The band was called Anaconda Bloodbath. Created by a woman who went by the stagename Spellweaver, the band was pretty well known in the Vinculux City punk circles.
Dorkpool, Indometus, Jake NukeIt, Nerdrage, and Spyder didn’t really know or care how popular the band was in punk circles. They knew that an old friend – Spellweaver – was a part of it, and they could use her help.
Well, that, and that the old brick building the concert was in was incredibly full of people dressed in black and spikes.
It also happened to be very loud.
“Do you think Spellweaver will notice us?” Indo asked.
“What? I can’t hear you.” Nerdrage asked in response.
“I said, ‘Do you think Spellweaver will notice us?’” Indo repeated, louder.
“Probably. We’re not exactly inconspicuous, even among this crowd.” Nerdrage responded.
“Hey, Spyder’s pretty inconspicuous,” Dorkpool noted.
Nerdrage sighed, not that anyone could hear. “For the last time, giving him a trench coat and a hat doesn’t make him inconspicuous.”
“But it worked for the Ninja Turtles!”
“He’s not a Ninja Turtle,” Nerdrage said. “I’m not even sure why he let you put that on him.”
“I didn’t put it on him,” Dorkpool said. “Indo did.”
Indo smiled at Nerdrage.
“Ugh,” Nerdrage said.
Jake looked down at his foot. “Hey, guys, I think someone puked on my shoe,” he noted.
Incertus and Laughing Jack could hear the music from outside the building. They weren’t very far from it, and were just looking at it. They had no idea if their intended targets had arrived, since the two just got there.
“This is it,” Incertus said.
“Great. Let’s go make this a killer concert!” Jack joked.
Incertus looked at him, and said, “Really? That’s your line? For a clown, you’re not very funny.”
“For someone who looks dead, you talk too much.”
Incertus laughed, and both walked inside the building.
“I’m gonna try getting her attention,” Jake said.
“I thought we were going to wait until after the concert,” Dorkpool pointed out.
“Well, I’m tired of getting puked on.”
Before Jake had a chance to do anything, all of them heard a scream. Not the kind of screaming they’ve normally been hearing at the concert, but more a terrified and pained kind.
All five of them looked at the direction the scream was coming from, and saw Incertus and Jack. Jack had just stabbed someone, if the person in front of him falling down was any indication.
Incertus saw them, and pointed. She and Jack started going towards them, cutting down anyone in their way.
“They’re coming towards us,” Dorkpool said.
“There are way too many people here,” Nerdrage said.
“On it,” Indo said, blasting fire into the air, and setting off the fire alarms. People started to clear out, though some had their phones out, recording everything that was going on as they left.
“Don’t you just love a good concert?” Incertus yelled, and started using her powers to throw people at the team. Spyder, ripping off the trench coat, created web nets for the people to fall onto.
Incertus, seeing an issue with her current strategy, instead decided to make escaping patrons attack the team physically, controlling them like puppets.
From the stage, Spellweaver watched the chaos unfold.
“Guys, you should go. Now,” she told her bandmates, who, seeing everything going on, agreed to do so.
Spellweaver, meanwhile, took out her wand and joined the fight.
“Spellweaver, long time no see. Let me introduce you to Jack.” Incertus said.
“Weren’t you dead?” Spellweaver said.
“I was. I got better.”
Incertus then launched a concentrated stream of water at Spellweaver. Spellweaver pointed her wand and created a shield in front of her.
Meanwhile, Jack had charged into the fray, singling out Dorkpool and Jake. He kept slashing at them with his knife, while the two dodged, trying to get in an attack.
Jack soon got a lucky hit, cutting off Dorkpool’s arm.
“Could you give me a hand?” Dorkpool asked at the same time Jack said, “Looks like you need a hand.”
The three paused for a moment, and Dorkpool said, “Dude, you stole my joke. Not cool.” And then the fighting resumed, although Dorkpool had to fight back one-handed.
Incertus was keeping the rest of the team on their toes.
“Nice to see you again,” Nerdrage told Spellweaver as he dodged a blade of water.
“I wish you’d called first. I was busy,” Spellweaver responded, sending blasts of magic at Incertus.
“Wish I could’ve, but it was kind of urgent,” Nerdrage said, shooting at Incertus. Incertus caught the bullets in a wall of water, and then pushed the wall at Nerdrage. Indo jumped in front of Nerdrage, and launched fire at the water wall, turning it into steam. Before Nerdrage could say thanks, Indo jumped at Incertus, her fists glowing with fire. Incertus created a fist of water, which hit Indo dead on, sending her flying.
“Yeah, I can see that. Could you at least give me a quick run down on what’s going on?” Spellweaver asked.
“Later!” Nerdrage said, dodging another attack from Incertus.
Spyder, who had somehow ended up crawling on the ceiling, got right above Incertus and jumped down on top of her. Before he could hit her, she sent out a giant wave of water at him, powerful enough to knock him back onto the ceiling and knock him out. He fell to the ground, unconscious.
Jake, meanwhile, was still fighting Jack with the one-armed Dorkpool.
Indo, who was sending out multiple fireballs, took a quick look at the somewhat disarmed Dorkpool and the fallen Spyder, and said, “I don’t think this is going well.”
“We can’t leave,” Nerdrage said. “They’re blocking the doors.”
“I think I can take care of that,” Spellweaver said. She raised her wand, and her, Spyder, Dorkpool, Jake, Indo, and Nerdrage all disappeared in a flash of white.
Jack, who was in the middle of a stab, fell over when his intended target disappeared.
Incertus yelled in anger.
Meanwhile, away from the concert, the team flashed into existence.
“Thanks,” Dorkpool said. “I really needed a hand back there,” he added, using his hand to gesture to his missing arm.
“Dude, that wasn’t funny before, and it isn’t funny now.” Jake said.
“Oh, you know it was.”
“Really, it wasn’t.”
“Um, hi, yes, excuse me, before you two keep arguing, could someone please explain to me what’s going on?” Spellweaver asked.
“Alrighty. Sit back, and prepare for one long explanation,” Dorkpool said.
