Dorkpool: Ever play ROBLOX?
Mirror: No, I don’t think I’ve even really heard of it.
Dorkpool: Far as I know, it’s supposed to be some Minecraft type game or something. I’ve personally never played it. But the writer of this story, “ROBLOX: Goner,” has, since it exists and is ROBLOX based.
Mirror: Well, not knowing jack shit about what we’re Riffing hasn’t really stopped us before.
Dorkpool: Except for that Hetalia story. Anyway, let’s go to a boring map, and Riff this bitch!
START RIFF
It was another boring day on ROBLOX, games in the front page with misleading titles or copied places.
Dorkpool: (Narrator): I would’ve played Minecraft, but there’s some Herobrine guy who’s just being a real pain.
I was craving for a good game on ROBLOX, as I waited for Borderlines. I saw a new hat on the catalog that looked funny so, I bought it.
Mirror: New hat? Is this ROBLOX, or Team Fortress 2?
I went to find a game, though front pages rarely have anything good, I looked far at the back. This is when I found the place I forbid to go now.
Dorkpool: 4chan?
I found a place called 'Goner' it was in the horror section. The game was made by LaterThanToday, he seemed to just joined ROBLOX few days ago. The thumbnail just showed a black screen that didn't interest me. But I looked for awhile in the pages for a game and none did so I just said, "Oh what the hell," and just joined.I walked for a minute or 2 and I saw a human figured.
Mirror: Figured? So was the figure in the past tense? Does this story involve time travel or something?
I walked up to it, and I saw 2 others. They all looked like they were dancing to metal rock or some sort, but made it more weird for me that they were dancing around a red hanged person.
Dorkpool: Warped Tour has become really weird this year.
I looked around for anything else, and I saw a house. It looked like a simple ROBLOX house from the old days.
T I went in but when I did I saw a picture of a sad face.
Mirror: (Narrator): Well, actually, it was a picture of a DC exec looking at the ticket sales for The Avengers.
It went out in 5 seconds, nothing much was in the house. I looked for a secret door or some sort but I couldn't. I left after looking around for anything else but couldn't. I just went to the front page again and joined any game with the most A's in it.
Dorkpool: (Narrator): That’s how I ended up joining the Fonzie server.
I started in a new server, meaning no one was there. A minute later a Guest joined. The guest said 'Hello', than just kept following me through the obby. When I stopped he stops, when I die, he even kills himself.
Mirror: Romeo And Juliet: ROBLOX Edition.
I found it to be a little funny, but than the Guest said 'Hello'. Than left. I also left out of boredom, and I saw that I have a message. The person who sent me a message was from LaterThanToday. It said:
"The only difference between life and dying is one is trying"
I messaged him saying what that meant, and he replied "He loves you."
Dorkpool: (LaterThanToday): He’s just too shy to say so to you directly.
I tried to replied "Okay?" but it said I kept getting those annoying ROBLOX errors. That is when my story end, you can join the gamece of view was also small. I walked for a minute or 2 and I saw a human figured.
Mirror: (Narrator): Did I say my story was over? I meant, any original parts of it were over. Time to repeat what I said earlier.
I walked up to it, and I saw 2 others. They all looked like they were dancing to metal rock or some sort, but made it more weird for me that they were dancing around a red hanged person.
I looked around for anything else, and I saw a house. It looked like a simple ROBLOX house from the classic days if you want.
Dorkpool: (Narrator): If you don’t want it, then screw you.
Also the game was laggy. My mouse was also glitchy, and it barely had anything in it.
Mirror: Well, good. I’m pretty sure a mouse shouldn’t really have much of anything in it.
END RIFF
Dorkpool: This story sucks.
Mirror: The spelling and grammar aren’t very good, which makes for some odd phrasing. The plot is generic and not at all scary. If anything, it’s boring. I mean, at least generic stories will probably have the computer get a virus, or some demon in the game try to kill the main character or something. Here though, it’s “Guy is bored, goes to server with weird rave, leaves, creator of server follows him and gives him weird message, and parts of the story are sort of repeated.” If it’s supposed to be scary, it failed miserably. Hell, I’m not sure if it was trying to be scary. I mean, there was nothing about it that seemed scary. Just, at most, a bit odd. Oh, by the way, the writer pretty much repeats parts of the story almost verbatim at points. This is fine if you want a sense of repetition and routine, or are doing something involving time travel (for example, in the excellent Star Trek book Imzadi, there’s a part where a character, Riker, was thinking about things, going to sleep, then waking up feeling like someone was in his quarters. This sequence was repeated almost verbatim later, but that’s because a future version of him went back in time to that moment, changing the end of the sequence). Here, though, it just feels lazy.
Dorkpool: There are good things though. The story was short, which is nice. That’s really about it though. It’s still a bad story. But that’s what we think. What do you guys think? Was the story good? Was the Riff good? Do you wish he’d love us? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
